Health and Safety and the Environment

An established health and safety consultancy, with a dedicated team of National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) qualified consultants; AEC are able to offer practical advice on all aspects of workplace health and safety.

All businesses have a legal & moral responsibility to ensure they comply with specific health and safety legislation. The regulations addressed are to protect, promote and preserve safety and compliance not just in business activity but for the welfare of employees.

Risk Assessments must be carried out as a legislative requirement for most sets of regulations; these should be subject to regular review. These reviews will demonstrate that policies & procedures have been effectively implemented.

Recording and reporting of incidents and accidents (RIDDOR - Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrence Regulations) is essential. Discussing with employees, the objectives and the rules, assisting and providing the training and education for their needs.

In addition, making sure methods are understood and comply with the company policy, which has been written. The company must hold appropriate employers liability insurance too.

To keep in line with specific environmental, health and safety regulation, businesses must adhere too much of the following:

  • Comply with a duty of care
  • Control statutory measures for noise, fumes etc
  • Store and dispose of waste correctly
  • Keep and control trade effluents in line with best practice.
  • Reduce the use of hazardous substances
