LOCAL EXHAUST VENTILATION |
|
Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems capture contaminants at source for safe disposal, airborne products that would have normally been released into the workplace atmosphere. AEC offer consultants who provide a competent, independent review of your LEV system, which we audit as part of your compliance with COSHH regulation 9. We provide a thorough examination and test of your LEV system using the following methods: • All examinations and test procedures follow those outlined in the Health and Safety Executive’s publications HS/G37 “An Introduction to Local Exhaust Ventilation” and HS/G54 “The Maintenance, Examination and Testing of Local Exhaust Ventilation”. • Wherever possible, five types of investigation/measurement are made on each system: smoke test; face velocity; capture velocity; duct velocity and static pressure. • Face velocity tests and Capture velocity test On completion of the review of your LEV system AEC provide a comprehensive report, which documents the legislation, method, system recommendations and the HSE recommended values. The report also documents a summary of the LEV system examination and test with a schematic drawing showing the measurement positions.
