Noise and Vibration Awareness

Who should attend: Health & safety professionals, managers whose staff may work in noisy environments or use vibrating equipment and hand tools such as drills, saws and strimmers. People who need to devise an effective noise and vibration management programme to meet legal requirements.
Summary: The course will contain information on anatomical and physiological aspects of the ear and noise-induced deafness. It will also include the effects of excessive vibration on the body generally and the hands and arms in particular; relevant legislation; procedures and equipment for measuring sound levels and vibration; how to assess risk and report.
Qualification: On completion of this course you will appreciate the effects that noise and vibration has on the human body; know how to measure and record noise and vibration; be able to implement a noise and vibration management programme; and know how to approach noise and vibration control issues. This is an assessed course and upon successful completion you will be presented with a certificate.
