The ‘Risk Assessment Principles and Practice’ is an essential course for anybody with responsibility for health and safety and who is looking to develop their risk assessment skills.

All line managers, supervisors, safety advisors, directors, the self-employed, and the individual employees need to develop risk assessment skills. Risk assessment encourages the identification of items and situations that may cause accidental injuries or health problems, and the development of an appropriate response. It essentially proactive, designed to focus attention on what could happen, before it does happen.

The course covers the key areas of general health and safety risk assessment, risk assessment in practice and the legal requirements of risk assessment. It follows the outline of the CIEH Risk Assessment Principles and Practice Certificate and can be used to support study towards this qualification or used as a stand-alone reference.

The technical terms and methodology involved in the conduct of risk assessment are often complex and Risk Assessment principles and Practice simplifies the principles and process
so that they are more accessible to students. Definitions are supplied where
technical terms are used and there are also plenty of illustrations and examples throughout the book to help clarify key points.
